The present invention relates to an E-UMTS (Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) for wireless communication, and, in particular, to a cell search method which reduces power consumption in a wireless communication system. According to the present invention, in the E-UMTS (Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System), 1) if there is priority in frequency or radio technology (RAT) and 2) the order of priority between a plurality of frequency or radio technologies is determined, then 3) a network gives a terminal notification of control information for measurement according to the priority and 4) the terminal performs measurement according to the priority on the basis of the received control information, thereby 5) providing a method for reducing the power consumed in measuring a cell of a frequency with high priority. |
