<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline dry cell having superior high rate discharge characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to the alkaline dry cell in which a manganese dioxide containing positive electrode 2, a zinc containing negative electrode 3, and a potassium hydroxide water solution containing electrolytic solution are housed in a bottomed cylindrical battery case 1, and in which when carrying out cross-sectional photographing at every 0.2 mm in a range where the positive electrode 2 exists perpendicular to the center axis of a cylinder of the battery case 1 by X-ray CT, the number of cross-sectional images where at least one crack 10 of brightness of 98% or less of brightness of the positive electrode at the surrounding is observed at a positive electrode part of the cross-sectional images is 10% or more and 80% or less of the total number of the cross-sectional images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
