摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that always (even if the system is stopped while the temperature of a fuel cell body is very low) requires less time and power required for scavenging processing. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is configured such that an anode gas buffer 22 is provided between a shut valve 21 for cutting off hydrogen gas and an injector 23 for adjusting a supply amount of hydrogen gas. During the system stop, an amount of hydrogen gas according to the actual temperature of a fuel cell stack 10 is filled into the anode gas buffer 22 so as to increase the temperature of the fuel cell stack 10 by power generation operation that uses only hydrogen inside the anode gas buffer 22 as fuel.
