<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) in a proper situation. <P>SOLUTION: When any of the following decisions shows a negative result: whether a load factor kl and an engine speed Ne of an engine are within an EGR ON/OFF boundary area or not (S120), whether or not ON/OFF of an accelerator pedal is repeated (an accelerator ON/OFF repetition decision flag F is 1) over a prescribed frequency Cref or above within a prescribed time T1 within a range less than a prescribed opening Aref (S130), whether required power P* required for a vehicle is less than a predetermined power Pref or not (S140), and whether or not an output limit Wout of a battery is a predetermined value Wref or above (S150), the required power P* is set to engine required power Pe* (S160).
