<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cellulose nanofibers having high fluidity, and high transparency. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises oxidizing powdered cellulose using an oxidizing agent in the presence of an N-oxyl compound (1), and a bromide, an iodide or a mixture of these (2), and subjecting the resulting material to wet atomization at a pressure of not lower than 100 MPa to make nanofibers using an ultrahigh pressure homogenizer in order to produce cellulose nanofibers having a Brookfield viscosity of a water dispersion thereof at a concentration of 2%(w/v) of 500-3,000 mPa s, preferably 500-2,000 mPa s (measured at 60 rpm, 20°C), and a 660 nm light transmission of a water dispersion thereof at a concentration of 0.1%(w/v) of not less than 90%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
