PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable compound forming micelles in an aqueous solution of pH≥4, and a method for preparing the same and a pharmaceutical composition containing the compound. SOLUTION: The biodegradable compound is represented by general formula (1), wherein R is -[R1]k-[R2]m-, wherein R1 is -C(=O)-CHZ-O-, R2 is -C(=O)-CHY-O-, -C(=O)-CH2CH2CH2CH2CH2-O- or -C(=O)-CH2-O-CH2CH2-O-, wherein Z and Y are each H, methyl or phenyl, k is an integer of 1-30, and m is an integer of 0-30; X is -C(=O)-(CH2)a-C(=O)-O-M, wherein a is an integer of 0-10, and M is Na, K or Li; I is a diol or a polyol having 3-12 hydroxy groups; and n is an integer of 2-6 and equals the number of hydroxy groups which I has.
