PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water absorption preventive wall structure for preventing water absorption of a building panel caused by rainwater to prevent the degradation of material property of a wall surface, and to provide the building panel. SOLUTION: The water absorption preventive wall structure is constructed by at least one of methods of covering the slit end or cut end of the building panel with a covering material for covering the slit end or cut end of the building panel; connecting the mutual slit ends or cut ends of the building panels by a connecting member and covering the slit ends or cut ends of the building panels with the covering material; and connecting the mutual slit ends or cut ends of the building panels by the connecting member and covering the slit ends or cut ends of the building panels with a plurality of sheet sealing pieces formed of soft synthetic resin mounted to the connecting member and branched acutely to the surface side. Alternatively, the water absorption preventive building panel comprises at least one of means for preventing water absorption from a clearance between a surface material and back face paper by stacking adhesive tapes to block a clearance between the back face paper and a nailed piece, extending the back face paper to cover the tip of the nailed piece and bonding the back face paper continuously with the nailed piece using an adhesive.
