<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine for increasing interest even more by adding a new game. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The game machine includes: a start lever 500 for performing start operation of a game and operation in a plurality of directions by a player; start operation detecting means 500S for detecting start operation; winning role determining means 60 for determining a winning role on the basis of the detection of the start operation performed by the start operation detecting means 500S; symbol varying means 60 for varying symbols displayed by a symbol display means on the basis of the detection of the start operation performed by the start operation detecting means 500S; side game executing means 80 for executing a side game progressed as the start lever 500 is operated between the start operation and stop of symbol variation; and reporting means 80 for reporting a determined winning role in accordance with a result of the side game.
