PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in a stepping motor stoppage control period. SOLUTION: In a put-out motor control circuit, a first exciting current I<SB>p</SB>is circulated for a predetermined period. In order to prevent heat generation, a first switching element 7 is turned off to turn off a switching element 4, thereby a path 1 is switched to a path 2 to set the excitation current to be circulated by counter-electromotive force. Thus, the excitation current is attenuated with time due to a loss on the circuit. Then, in order to avoid becoming lower than an excitation current value I<SB>MIN</SB>which is irreducibly minimum for stoppage excitation, a first switching element 7 is turned on to turn on the switching element 4 to turn on a driving power source V, thereby the path 2 is switched to the path 1 from the path 1 to keep the current by the path 2 of I<SB>TR2</SB>shown in Fig. 2.
