<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear train for an automatic transmission for a vehicle, improving fuel consumption by providing ten forward speeds and one reverse speed, and improving power transmission performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gear train for an automatic transmission for vehicles is composed of: a first planetary gear set comprising three rotating elements; a second planetary gear set of a simple planetary gear set comprising three rotating elements and two brakes; a third planetary gear set comprising four rotating elements, one brake; and four clutches. Inputted rotary power of an engine is outputted to speed stages provided by combining the three planetary gear sets, the four clutches, and the three brakes. By respectively dispersing the brake and the clutches, formation of a hydraulic passage becomes easy, uniforming of weight distribution is provided, and weight balance of the whole automatic transmission is improved.
