PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file easy to carry despite the fact that the file has a sufficient length of grinding section and capable of grinding both flat and curved blades. SOLUTION: This file formed by adhering an abrasive material to the surface of a file body 1 comprises front and rear surfaces 30, 31 of a flat file body 1 which has a gradually changed thickness therebetween and projecting curved surfaces 32, 33 which form both side surfaces joining the front and rear surfaces 30, 31 to each other and which are gradually changed according the change of the thicknesses.
