<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning apparatus including a blade, capable of effectively removing toner left on a photo receptor surface even if the toner is spherical toner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the cleaning apparatus configured to remove toner remaining on a photoreceptor on an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, a tip of the blade is disposed on the photoreceptor so as to satisfy expression (1). In the expression (1), θ is an angle defined by a tangent line 1 at a contact point between a sphere having a diameter of (D-σ), when the sphere simultaneously contacts with the photosensitive body and the blade, and a tangent line 2 at a contact point between the sphere and the blade, sandwiching the sphere therebetween. D and σ are respectively a mean particle size of the toner particles and a standard deviation of particle size distribution, and μ is a smaller friction coefficient of a friction coefficient μ<SB>1</SB>between the toner particle and the photosensitive body and a friction coefficient μ<SB>2</SB>between the toner particle and the blade.
