<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a failover method for improving overall reliability of a system comprising a large number of servers. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Priorities set based on operating statuses of respective servers 102 and shared devices communicable with the respective servers 102 in a failover system 10 are stored in a storage part 160 in association with the respective servers 102, A failover processing part 110 of a management server 101 retrieves a server 102 based on the priorities and designates the retrieved server 102 as a spare server when a failure occurs in one of the servers 120.
