The work piece (1) has surfaces extending from an edge (2) up to an opposite edge (3). The edges are laminated with decorative foils (4, 6) e.g. plastic foil. The decorative foils are defined in a set of strips on the work piece through an adhesive layer (5). The strips of the decorative foils are arranged in space free manner adjacent to abutting edges that adjoin to one another. The work piece is made of wood or wood-replacement material. The adjacent abutting edges are arranged at lower side of the work piece that is mutually spaced from the edges (2, 3). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a plate shaped work piece.
