FLEXIBLE DRAPER AND CUTTER BAR WITH TILT ARM FOR CUTTERBAR DRIVE

A harvesting header (40) has a header frame (42) and a flexible cutterbar assembly (48) mounted to the header frame to extend lengthwise in a lateral direction relative to the normal direction of travel of the header. The cutterbar assembly is supported on a plurality of laterally spaced apart support arms (44, 46) which are pivotally coupled to the frame for swinging movement about a laterally extending axis so that the flexible cutterbar assembly is operable to flex along the length thereof in response to changes in terrain as the header is advanced. A draper assembly (50) is supported on the header frame behind the cutterbar assembly to flex therewith. A cutterbar drive (112) is provided which has a drive shaft (116) and a forward gearbox (120) drivingly connected between the drive shaft and the cutterbar assembly to provide driving power from the drive shaft to the cutterbar assembly. The forward gearbox is supported on the outer support arm (46) adjacent the cutterbar assembly so that the forward gearbox shifts with the flexible cutterbar assembly.
