PURPOSE: An instant messaging service system using a Bluetooth device and a method thereof are provided to improve the user convenience by making the writing of a short message and character chatting possible in a mobile terminal through a Bluetooth headset. CONSTITUTION: A Bluetooth headset(100) converts input voice information into character information and then transmits the converted character information through a Bluetooth interface. A mobile terminal(200) displays additional information corresponding to an instance messaging service and the converted character information, and transmits the converted character information through a data channel in real time. A presence server(300) provides the additional information to the mobile terminal.
