PURPOSE: A system for providing an advertisement through a video communication connection standby state and a method thereof are provided to display advertisement-linked advertisement connection information on a video terminal after the termination of video communication. CONSTITUTION: A system for providing an advertisement through a video communication connection standby state includes at least two video terminals(100,200) and a video communication server(300). The video terminals perform communication through a video. When the video communication server attempts a video communication connection through the video terminals, the video communication server displays an advertisement in a connection standby state to the video terminals.
