<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a plated base material, the occurrence of whisker is suppressed by adding a simple means. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the manufacture of the plated base material 3 by having the Pb-free Sn plated layer 2 on the surface of a base material 1, after the Pb-free Sn plated layer 2 is formed on the surface of the base material, the formed plated layer 2 is cold-rolled.
