<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detoxification device for an organic halogen compound which can calculate adding amount of each chemicals required for detoxification of the organic halogen compound, according to loading, and also, requires no operating skill whatever. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This device includes a flocculation device 13 which mixes a waste liquor containing a solid substance on which the organic halogen compound deposits and a flocculating agent and flocculates the solid substance to obtain slurry, a reactor 15 which mixes the slurry, a protonic solvent and a metal which becomes partially dissolved in the protonic solvent and thereby, acquires reduction power due to electron transfer, and thus, dehalogenates and/or reduction-treats the organic halogen compound, and an arithmetic device 19 which calculates the addition amount of the protonic solvent from the water content of the slurry and then calculates the addition amount of the metal so as to obtain the pressure of the reactor 15 at a specified internal pressure level.
