The scanning by a probe is navigated with high accuracy by using an anatomical model having an organ the position of which is corrected in conformity to the position of a patient. The ultrasonograph includes a control unit (12), a position detecting means (14) for detecting the position and angle of a probe (10), and an anatomical model storage means (15) storing an anatomical model having an organ of an organism. The control unit (12) includes a navigating means (120) for displaying a surface picked up and a cross-section of the anatomical model the magnifications of which are corrected in conformity with the patient according to the detected position and angle together with an ultrasonogram, an image extracting means (121) for extracting images for predetermined sections at the same angle as that of the surface picked up, and a model position correcting means (122) for collating the extracted images with the ultrasonogram, acquiring the image most approximate to the ultrasonogram, and correcting the position of the anatomical model on the basis of the difference between the position of the surface picked up and the position of the extracted image.
