<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image quality upgrading fluid which can be given to a medium within a minimum range of dosage, even in case the fluid is remarkably ionic, make available conspicuous image quality upgrading performance, inhibit ink feathering in a medium, while saving consumption of the image quality upgrading fluid, and also, can make an image formation with excellent cost performance, as well as a method of upgrading an image quality, an imaging method and an imaging device. <P>SOLUTION: This image quality upgrading fluid comes into contact with ink containing a coloring material which takes on ionic properties with water in the water or a coloring material which takes on ionic properties by adsorbing a member showing the ionic properties in the water. Further, the fluid flocculates through a chemical reaction with the coloring material in the ink, thus upgrading the image quality in ink on the medium. In addition, the image quality upgrading fluid contains a cationic member or a member which acidifies the water, and a nonionic surfactant or an amphoteric surfactant as a foaming agent and a water-insoluble fatty acid which does not dissolve in water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
