<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve effective utilization of resources without adding a special additional function to a mobile unit or the like and by eliminating holding of unnecessary information in an IPsec tunnel termination gateway or in an authentication server. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A mobile communication system is configured to set a security path when a mobile unit accesses a mobile communication network via a wireless LAN. The mobile communication system is provided with a mobile-unit monitoring device 104 that transmits an ICMP echo request to a mobile unit 100 via an IPsec tunnel 105 being a security path, executes detection that the mobile unit 100 is out of a wireless LAN range on the basis of the presence or the absence of a response to the echo request, and makes a deletion request of information regarding the IPsec tunnel 105 and the mobile unit 100 to devices 101 and 103 for generating the IPsec tunnel 105.
