PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partition wall at a low price which is used for partitioning a room such as a rest room. SOLUTION: The partition wall 30 is provided with a plurality of pillars 16, a lower frame 17 and an upper frame 24, and a plate member 31 such as a glass pane. The lower frame 17 and the upper frame 24 are spanned between the pillar 16 and the pillar 16 which are adjacent to each other, and the plate member 31 is engaged with the pillar 16 and the pillar 16 which are adjacent to each other. Especially, the pillar 16 is constituted by a medium-density fibrous material which is derived from a shaving of lumber, saw dust, chips of scrap lumber, a small-diameter tree, or small pieces of branches. The medium-density fibrous material is recycled wood which is formed by being hardened by an adhesive after being crushed into the size of a cell, and is priced lower than metal to a great degree and lower than a squared timber. Since a pillar like this can be easily processed by the hand of a carpenter in the field, construction costs can be reduced. That is to say, a low-cost partition wall can be provided.
