<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device capable of eliminating or reducing a problem by generation of excessive tensile force in a sewed portion of the airbag with a simple constitution. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This airbag device includes the air-bag stored in an instrument panel in a compressed state when the airbag is not used and mounted in an airbag container to be inflated and deployed toward a cabin side when an emergency occurs, and a gas generator for supplying inflation gas to the inside of the airbag. The airbag is constituted of a center panel 22 annularly extending in an upper and lower direction and in a front and rear direction by including a region facing to an occupant when inflated and side panels 20R and 20L for covering side faces of the center panel 22. In the center panel 22, one internal face and the other external face of end parts of substantially belt-shaped panels are overlapped and joined to be contact with each other.
