<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionizer in which the arrangement direction of various indicators and tuning units or the like can be changed to an air blowing port and the user-friendliness of the ionizer is improved by a simple and low-cost means. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ionizer is provided with a fan 13 for sending out an ion generated by the impression of a high voltage on a discharge electrode 12 from the air blowing port 11 and a control part for controlling the drive of a high voltage generation part and the fan. A fan unit 1 which has the discharge electrode and the fan in a case 10 and a control unit 2 which has the control part in a case 20 are formed separately, and an indicator 21 and a tuning unit for adjusting an operation state are installed on the front side of the case 20, and separate connectors for transmitting and receiving power and signals between the case are installed at the connecting faces 16, 36 of the cases 10, 20. The cases 10, 20 can be transformed between a connection state wherein mutual front sides are made to coincide with each other and a connection state that front and rear faces are made to mutually coincide with each other, and the arrangement of power and signals in the connector of the both separate connectors is made right-and-left symmetrical.
