According to an embodiment of the present invention, a touch screen panel comprises: a plurality of touch electrodes formed as a matrix shape on an upper portion of a display panel, including a plurality of pixels and a common electrode applying a common voltage to the plurality of pixels; and a touch operation unit classifying the plurality of touch electrodes and applying sensing operation signals, having different polarities, to the touch electrodes. The present invention provides a method for operating a touch screen panel, capable of preventing abnormal image quality and touch sensitivity degradation.
