The present invention relates to the composition of a mass produced by mixing a percentage of calcium sulphate (1) and a further percentage of sodium bicarbonate (2). The two products, supplied in the percentages corresponding to the formula, are placed in a mixing reservoir (3) and the corresponding percentage of water is added to form the mass (4), which, overall, forms the composition of the calcium sulphate and sodium bicarbonate compound for acoustic and thermal insulation, which, by virtue of the chemical reaction produced upon mixing the calcium sulphate and sodium bicarbonate, gives rise, within the mass, to the formation of a large number of interior cavities, forming, as it were, a kind of "sponge", which absorbs noise and heat and is thus suitable for use in multiple applications.
