<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a density change by preventing delay in supply of a developing material even when a set size of transfer paper is large, in control for supplying a developing material according to the number of pixels of an output image. <P>SOLUTION: If a transfer paper size set as a print output condition is larger, the apparatus uses a pixel information calculating section (1) 2-5 of an image data processing section (1) which processes a read input image so that the number of pixels may be counted at an earlier timing. If a transfer paper size is small, the apparatus uses the pixel information calculating section (3) 4-8 of an image data processing section (2) which process an image to output a print with higher accuracy. A pixel information calculating section (2) 4-1 is used when an image stored in an HDD 5 without having passed through a processing path for a read input image or an image from the HDD 5 is reused after having changed in its setting and so on.
