PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which can be folded without touching an absorbent member by a hand when a napkin is folded as a refuse and can be treated hygienically. SOLUTION: A sanitary napkin 1 includes a liquid-permeable front surface sheet 2, a liquid-impermeable back surface sheet 3 and the absorbent member 4 provided between the front surface sheet 2 and the back surface sheet 3 to absorb body fluid. Insert holes 7 are formed which are located in both sides in the direction of width W of the sanitary napkin 1 and extend along the longitudinal direction L. Long members 6 are inserted into the insert holes 7. In the insert holes 7, opening parts 8 located in the front end side Fr and fixing parts 12 located in the rear end side Ba are formed. The long members 6 include long parts 6 inserted into the insert holes 7 and pulled out parts 9 connected to the long parts 6 and pulled outside the insert holes 7 from the opening parts 8.
