<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video audio processing apparatus that stops beforehand an abnormal operation of a controlled circuit operating with control data from a control center circuit, by detecting control abnormality of the controlled circuit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a control data A signal 54 for operating an operation circuit 15 of the controlled circuit is received from the control center circuit, a control data check sum determination circuit 6 calculates the check sum of the signal, and when a check sum abnormality is detected and/or when a WDT reset signal 61 indicating the end of control is not outputted from a control and tally control signal decoding circuit 3 within a predetermined period after a V latch A0 signal 83 generated with a V pulse signal 50 indicating a control period is outputted, a gate A signal 70 of a gate signal generating circuit 10 is negated to stop the control data from being held in a regular control data holding circuit 13, thereby holding the operation circuit 15 in the last normal state as it is.
