PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circular knitting machine enabling a reliable selection of a dial needle, especially a selection by an electromagnet in spite of a conventionally installed dial camshaft. SOLUTION: Provided is the circular knitting machine comprising: a frame (1); a dial cam support (8) to mount a dial cam (18) mounted in the frame (1); a dial (16) disposed rotatably around a rotary shaft to the frame (1); and a dial camshaft (11), which is disposed rotatably and coaxially in the dial cam support (8) disposed rotatably around a rotary shaft to the frame (1), connected to the dial (16), and is intended for driving the dial (16). The clearance between the upper edge of a dial wheel facing the lower side of dial cam parts which is a component of the dial and the lower side of the dial cam parts, is set almost constant in measuring parallel to the rotary shaft of the dial. The dial (16) is disposed coaxially in the dial cam support (8) and a bearing disposed between the dial (16) and the dial cam support (8) is set as clearance adjustable to the rotating shaft.
