The invention relates toa growth device for crop, provided with at least a casing (2) and a core part (3), wherein the casing is substantially manufactered from mineral wool such as rock wool and surrounds the at least one core part at least partly, wherein the core part comprises a growth medium or is formed therefrom. The invention further relates to an assembly of at least two of such growth devices, a cladding or construction part comprising such growht device and a method for the manufacture of growth devices.
