The coupling device (2) has an inlet coupling unit (12) for joining the coupling device to a drive unit. The coupling unit has a gear wheel (26) with external teeth (28) and another gear wheel (30) with internal teeth (32) joined in the external teeth. The latter gear wheel encloses the former gear wheel. The latter and former gear wheels consist of a partial wheel (36) and another partial wheel (38) respectively. The latter partial wheel is movable relative to the former partial wheel from an axial position to another axial position. An independent claim is included for a gear wheel with external and internal teeth.
