<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser arc hybrid welding head which can form good beads at high speed, and a laser arc hybrid welding method. <P>SOLUTION: This is a laser arc hybrid welding method for welding a base material W of an aluminum steel sheet by performing laser light irradiation and arc discharge, using laser welding and arc welding in combination. The laser arc hybrid welding head splits an inputted laser light beam LO into two split laser light beams L2a, L2b, irradiates the base material W with the split laser light beams while condensing the beams, and performs coaxial welding by generating an arc A from an arc electrode 20 arranged coaxially with the optical axis of the split laser light beams L2a, L2b.
