<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter which prevents an inputted signal from being deteriorated and is capable of reducing power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transmitter comprises: a DSP 1 which calculates first modulation data and second modulation data on the basis of an inputted transmission data stream and outputs the first modulation data and the second modulation data in a term T; an analog conversion means for converting the first modulation data into an analog signal and converting the second modulation data into an analog signal delayed by a T/2 term; and an optical modulator 9 which combines an optical signal obtained by modulating light from a light source 8 in accordance with the first modulation data converted into the analog signal and an optical signal obtained by modulating light from the light source 8 in accordance with the second modulation data converted into the analog signal delayed by the T/2 term so as to generate an optical transmission signal that changes in the term T/2, wherein the first modulation data and the second modulation data are calculated in such a manner that the optical transmission signal becomes a desired signal waveform in a DSP 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
