PURPOSE: An associated term-based ontology generating device and a method thereof are provided to shorten the construction time of the ontology and the intervention time of users by using the process step of the syntactic-based ontology generation and the semantic-based ontology generation. CONSTITUTION: A syntactic-based ontology generator(210) generates the syntactic-based ontology using associated word information between terms. A semantic-based ontology generator(220) generates the semantic-based ontology having semantic system by mapping the syntactic-based ontology with ontology-similarity system. A correction/supplement means(230) of an associated word-based ontology corrects/supplements based on the inputted correction/supplement information.
