摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit of a vehicle for suppressing wasteful power transmission while suppressing the increase of costs. <P>SOLUTION: A drive unit 1 is provided with: a transmission mechanism 10 having a differential mechanism 16 in which a transmission member 6 is connected to a ring gear R16 and an output member 9 is connected to a carrier C16; a clutch CL10 for engaging or disengaging a sun-gear S16 with/from the output member 9; and a brake B10 for switching between an engagement state in which braking is applied to the sun-gear S16 so as not be rotated with respect to a transmission 15 and a release state in which the braking is released. The transmission mechanism 10 is configured so that when either the clutch CL10 or the brake B10 is engaged, the power of the transmission member 6 can be transmitted to the output member 9. This drive unit 1 is also provided with a transmission mechanism control means for controlling the transmission mechanism 10 to disengage the clutch CL10 and the brake B10 when the shift lever 23 of a shift operation device 12 is operated to a neutral range or a parking range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
