METHOD FOR MODIFYING POLYMER COMPOUND, LOW-SHRINK MATERIAL FOR USE IN PLASTICS, AND USAGE OF POLYMER COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a method for modifying a polymer compound as can modify efficiently in a relatively short time a polymer compound having a carboxyl group at the side chain; a low-shrink material for use in plastics; and usage of a polymer compound.

SOLUTION: The method for modifying a polymer compound comprises dehydrating alcohol in a polymer compound having a carboxyl group at the side chain under the irradiation of micro waves to give a modified product of the polymer compound.
