PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a reception device capable of providing good communication with a small circuit configuration. SOLUTION: The reception device includes: a transmission path estimation unit (12) for estimating a transmission path; a signal detection unit (13) for estimating a hard decision symbol being an estimated value of a transmission symbol by using a reduced computational operation complexity type maximum likelihood decision method; a likelihood calculation unit (15) for calculating a metric about the predetermined number of transmission symbol candidates among the transmission symbol candidates in which the metric has not been calculated by the estimation processing of the hard decision symbol based on a base band digital reception signal, a transmission path estimation result, and the hard decision symbol; and a soft decision processing unit (16) for calculating a soft decision value by using the metric calculated by the estimation processing of the hard decision symbol and the metric calculated by the likelihood calculation unit (15).
