<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal structure wherein liquid seal material sufficiently flows to positions requiring sealing when mounting a chain case, and also to provide the seal case and a seal structure forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The chain case 8 is arranged in opposition to a clearance 7 between a cylinder block 2 and a cylinder head 4 where a gasket 6 is held. It has a liquid seal material guiding recessed portion 16 formed in opposition to the clearance 7 and encircled at its whole periphery by a seal face 8b. In forming the seal structure, the flow of the great amount of liquid seal material 12 running into the clearance 7 is strongly produced during work for fastening the chain case 8 to the cylinder block 2 and the cylinder head 4, and the liquid seal material 12 flows into the inner corner of the clearance 7 to reliably reach the end of the gasket 6. In this way, the liquid seal material 12 sufficiently flows down to positions requiring sealing to prevent the leakage of lubricating oil from the chain case 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
