PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet head which enables a meniscus to be oscillated without discharging an ink droplet from a nozzle. SOLUTION: The ink-jet head is equipped with a pressure chamber filled with an ink, the nozzle communicating with the pressure chamber to form the ink meniscus, a piezoelectric element for pressurizing the pressure chamber, and a driving circuit. The drive circuit performs movement for forming a basic pulse to oscillate the meniscus by turning off the voltage applied to the piezoelectric element during the period almost same as the natural vibration period of the ink at the time of non-printing with discharging the ink at the time of printing. The movement for forming an additional pulse for turning off the voltage applied to the piezoelectric element is performed during the period almost same as the rising time of oscillating voltage by the basic pulse, at least more than once either before and after the driving circuit performs the movement for forming the basic pulse at the time of non-printing.
