PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil amendment material for promoting multiplication of self-supporting nematodes by using bacilli so that an original soil ecosystem is restored in soil where the ecosystem is collapsed. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the soil amendment material, when sludge containing the bacilli and a silica component is mixed with cellulose, wherein the self-supporting nematodes live and at least any one nutrient of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium is contained, and the mixture is fermented at 20-45°C, bacilli become predominant and multiplication of the self-supporting nematodes is accelerated. The soil amendment material containing the mixture wherein 10<SP>6</SP>-10<SP>8</SP>/1g of the bacilli and 5,000-120,000/1g of the self-supporting nematodes exist is also provided.
