<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument panel and a shield member capable of shielding a gap between an instrument panel body and a column cover with good appearance, and improving merchantability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A shield part 58 protrudes from an upper edge of an opening 55 so as to enter the column cover 40 at a position lower than an upper portion of the column cover 40, and a gap between the column cover 40 and the opening 55 is shielded in such a manner that lower portions of side surfaces of the column cover 40 are inserted into the opening 55 and are disposed on the front side of the shield part 58 in a vehicle longitudinal direction rather than a rear end thereof.
