<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body rear part structure capable of efficiently absorbing impact load in a rear surface collision in a rear part range of a rear side member with extremely hardly affecting an occupant. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This structure has a fold promoting member 41 having a mounting part 42 mounted by being extended in the longitudinal direction in a rear part of the rear side member 11 and a projecting part 43 formed by being extended downward from the mounting part 42, and a trailer hitch 30 having a trailer hitch bracket 31 provided with an abutting part 32 opposed to the projecting part 43. When impact load is inputted into the trailer hitch bracket 31 from a rear side, the abutting part 32 of the trailer hitch bracket 31 is abutted on the projecting part 43, a first bending inducing part 15 of the rear side member 11 corresponding to a front end of the mounting part 42 is bent and deformed. A distal end 43a of the projecting part 43 of the fold promoting member 41 oscillated according to bending and deformation of the first bending inducing part 15 is abutted on a second bending inducing part 16 of the rear side member 11 to bend and deform the second bending inducing part 16.
