PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens system, having a compactly constructed focusing lens group and a small change in the image magnification when the focusing lens group moves. SOLUTION: The zoom lens system includes a first lens group having positive optical power, a second lens group having negative optical power and at least two subsequent lens groups, in order from the object side, wherein in zooming, all lens groups move in a direction along the optical axis so that intervals between the lens groups vary, and in focusing, the second lens group from the image side moves in a direction along the optical axis.
