<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device advantageous in obtaining a superior exterior appearance while reducing manufacture costs. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display device 10 includes a display plate 14, a printed member 16, a light guiding member 18, a light-emitting portion 20, and the like. A hairline printed layer 30, a pearl ink printed layer 32, a masking layer 34, and a smoke printed layer 36 are formed in this order on the backside 1404 of the display plate 14. Hairlines are printed over the entire area of the backside 1404 of the display plate 14 by using a medium adapted to transmit light. The pearl ink printed layer 32 is formed by solid-printing pearl ink over the entire area of a surface of the hairline printed layer 30 opposite to a surface of the hairline printed layer 30 facing the backside 1404 and is structured so as to be either light-transmissive or light-semi-transmissive.
