The device has a cover device (2) adjusted between an open position releasing a windscreen (11) and a covering position partly covering the windscreen. An outlet edge is connected with an adjusting device (3) that is arranged in an area of the upper edge of the windscreen. The cover device is adjusted up to a preset maximum distance of the upper edge of the windscreen when a motor vehicle (1) is stopped and operated in a sun visor function. The cover device is adjusted into a region of a lower edge of the windscreen while stopping the motor vehicle in shading function of the device.
