<p>PURPOSE: A cell selection method in a communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to select a cell based on the previously stored cell information of a portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal senses a cell selection event(101), searches preset storage cell information(103), and preferentially performs a cell selection procedure through the previously stored storage cell information(105). The portable terminal can select a proper cell among cells corresponding to the storage cell information(107) and performs the camp on the selected cell(109).</p> |
