METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENTROPY ENCODING AND DECODING USING LEAST SIGNIFICANT BITS

PURPOSE: An entropy encoding method using the least significant bit, an apparatus thereof, an entropy decoding method and an apparatus thereof are provided to efficiently perform entropy encoding to the coefficient using the least significant bit. CONSTITUTION: An entropy encoding method is as follows. The residual coefficient obtaining with the frequency conversion about a residual image is input(710). The first bit string within the residual coefficient level is decided about the residual coefficient(720). The least bit is determined from a first bit(730) including the coefficient bit from the least significant bit. A second bit which is moved to the right side of the first bit is determined(740).
