<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine for health maintenance of gum-ridge, gum, and tissue supporting teeth, for prevention, treatment, and improvement of periodontal infection, for maintaining health of periodontium, and for inhibiting absorption of dental alveoli, and foods and drinks, oral compositions, and medicinal compositions containing the effective component having these actions and effects. <P>SOLUTION: These medicines for maintaining health of gum-ridge, gum, and tissue supporting teeth, for prevention, treatment, and improvement of periodontal infection, for maintaining health of periodontium, for inhibiting absorption of dental alveoli, and for anti-gingival inflammation contain at least an extract selected from the group consisting of leechee, red ginger, Houttuynia cordata, buckwheat, gymnema, banaba, neem, artichoke, olive, rice, walnut, haematococcus seaweed, and silver vine.
